Tierra Innovation

While employed at Tierra Innovation, a boutique consulting firm in NYC, I worked on a number of projects for Warner Brothers including architecting and developing massively multi-user Flash-based virtual worlds for both the Batman and Looney Tunes properties.

Initially the virtual world backend was built in Erlang by customizing ejabberd, the Erlang Jabber/XMPP daemon but then was migrated to SmartFoxServer, a Java based game server. The client side game engine was Flash based, written in ActionScript 3, and used specially names "cue sprites" in the designer built SWF files to enable mini-game launches and teleporting to different regions of the world.
